Ochladzovací princíp tohto zariadenia spočíva práve (a výhradne) v odparovaní vody, čo nie je žiadúce (ani také efektívne), ak je dusno.
Dá sa použiť aj bez funkcie chladenia, vtedy funguje iba ako ventilátor/ionizátor.
