My mouse freezes after about 5 minutes of inactivity (2.4G option), so I cannot move the cursor. However, when I press a button, the mouse not only unfreezes, but also performs the button action – which is annoying because I have no control over where the button action will be performed. Is this normal behaviour, or is my mouse faulty? There is no mention of this in the manual.

This is normal stand-by to safe battery. Don´t push the button but just move mouse to activate.
