Po nasazení na hodinky se obvod zmenší o vzdálenost mezi nožkami pouzdra, což je u běžných hodinek s 18mm řemínkem obvykle cca 40–50 mm. Po odečtení této vzdálenosti a s ohledem na dírky v řemínku vychází: minimální obvod: přibližně 15–16 cm, maximální obvod: přibližně 19–20 cm.
