Dieťa sa na jednostopovom odrážadle pohybuje odrazom svojich nôh a musí na ňom udržiavať rovnováhu , na viacstopovom sedí, ale vďaka kolieskam umiestneným vedľa seba nemusí udržovať rovnováhu.
