Elgato 4K Pro používá pro záznam obrazu kodeky H.264/AVC a H.265/HEVC. Kodek H.264/AVC je využíván pro záznam SDR obsahu až do 140 Mbps, zatímco kodek H.265/HEVC je využíván pro záznam HDR obsahu až do 105 Mbps.
