Dôvodom je, že štandard USB 3.1 Gen 2 bol nahradený novým označením USB 3.2 Gen 2 v rámci aktualizácie špecifikácií USB. Takže porty, ktoré sa označujú ako USB 3.1 Gen 2, sú teraz kompatibilné s USB 3.2 Gen 2.
