The TVS-1282 features advanced hardware including the 6th Generation Intel (14nm) multi-core processors, and was designed around the concept of tiered storage, application-based partitioning and network traffic distribution. The 3rd generation PCIe slots let you tailor your NAS to your 10GbE/40GbE NIC, the latest PCIe NVME SSD or graphics cards. The TVS-1282 also supports smooth 4K video transfer, file sharing across platforms, comprehensive backup and disaster recovery, iSCSI, virtualization and other enterprise applications.
The NAS is equipped with 2x built-in M.2 slots in addition to the slots for standard disks, which can be used for cache acceleration to boost overall system performance especially in running random IOPS demanding applications. In addition, Qtier technology with Auto Tiering continuously optimizes the storage efficiency across PCIe NVMe SSD, M.2 SSD, SSD, and SATA drives. Auto Tiering also automatically moves frequently used data to high-performance storage tiers, and less-accessed data to lower-cost, higher-capacity hard drives for greater efficiency.
The upgraded QTS 4.2 system continues the evolution of the NAS user interface with its fresh look and many new features and enhancements for better performance. It features optimized data management and comprehensive backup and recovery solutions. The revamped Storage Manager adds a handy snapshot tool, allowing you to systematically back up volume and LUN snapshots for future retrieval. QTS keeps your data safe, yet quickly and easily available.
To run the NAS as a PC, just plug in a keyboard, mouse, and display. With QvPC, NAS can be transformed into a cost-effective device with PC capabilities, allowing users to access stored data, run multiple applications using virtual machines based on different systems (Windows/Linux/UNIX/Android) in Google Chrome, use Full HD video with up to 7.1 channel audio in Kodi, monitor live feeds using Surveillance Station, and much more.
This NAS offers the ability to easily recover data in case of a random failure. RTRR (Real-Time Remote Replication) backs up data in real-time to a remote disk. In case of an accident, the backup can simply be restored. There is also rsync support for backing up data to another server or synchronising between a variety of cloud services, including Amazon S3, Amazon Glacier, Microsoft Azure, ElephantDrive, DropBox or Google Drive.
