The QNAP TS-h1887XU-RP-E2334-16G NAS serves as a 2U rackmount network storage solution for managing and storing business data. The hardware is powered by a quad-core Intel Xeon E-2334 processor with a frequency of 3.4GHz and 16384MB of DDR4 system RAM. The QuTS hero operating system with ZFS file system support performs advanced data backup, virtualisation and snapshot recovery. Network connectivity is provided by two 2.5GbE ports and two 10GBASE-T ports, which are complemented by three free PCIe Generation 4 slots. Two internal 550W power supplies increase operational reliability. If one power supply fails, the second module takes over without interrupting operation. Hybrid storage
The rackmount storage design combines twelve bays for 3.5" SATA HDDs and six bays for 2.5" SATA SSDs. This hybrid configuration separates high-capacity data storage from the fast cache. The fast SSDs are used for writing and reading frequently used files. The system automatically optimises data access and increases overall transfer efficiency.
Powerful Intel Xeon processor
The device is powered by a quad-core Intel Xeon E-2334 processor with a frequency of 3.4GHz, which increases to 4.8GHz under load. The processor is complemented by 16384MB of ECC DDR4 system memory, which you can expand up to 131072MB. The error-correcting RAM prevents system failures when processing demanding business applications. The hardware can handle the simultaneous operation of several virtual machines.
Network connection
Network connectivity is provided by two 2.5GbE ports and two 10GBASE-T ports. The device has a read speed of 1155MB/s and a write speed of 1110MB/s. The high-speed interface facilitates the transfer of large data volumes on the corporate network. Users can aggregate the ports to increase throughput or create a backup connection.
Expansion options via PCIe
The motherboard includes three free PCIe Generation 4 slots for installing expansion cards. Two slots have a Gen 4 ×4 configuration and one offers a Gen 4 ×8 interface. Users can install network cards with speeds up to 25GbE or adapters for M.2 SSDs. The free slots can also be used to connect graphics cards or other controllers.
Operating system
The QuTS hero operating system uses the advantages of the ZFS file system for data protection. The system supports inline deduplication and compression technology to save storage space. Advanced volume snapshots protect the system from ransomware attacks and accidental file deletion. Management is made easy by a clear web interface with access to additional applications.
