The Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Turntable is a great tool for playing vinyl records starting with audiofiles. It uses a silent, synchronous motor, mounted through sorbotan shock absorbers, which feature a silicone strap to drive a low-resonance, heavier MDF plate. The main part of the chassis is made of a light but very solid chipboard.
A fundamental and revolutionary change is the fitting of the carbon fiber tube arm, which is absolutely unique in this price category. Because of the advanced concept, unwanted resonances are effectively transferred to the base of the arm and then to the chassis. The turntable comes complete with an Ortofon OM10 with an elliptical tip, so just plug it into a pre-amp system and start listening in superb quality.
