The Plustek OpticFilm 120 is professional film strip scanner designed to provide excellent image quality results from 35mm film strips, slides, and 120/220mm film from 6x4.5cm up to 6x12cm in size. It is designed for professional photographers, advanced amateur photographers, film photo enthusiasts, photography schools and clubs. The outstanding image quality is assured by state of the art optical and electronic systems including an 8-element glass lens with 5,300 dpi measured resolution, high-sensitive colour CCD with 10,600 dpi resolution, and stable light sources. The scanner delivers an effective usable dynamic range of 4.01 (with SilverFast Multi-Exposure/ISO 21550: 2004) and a theoretically maximum density of 4.8. This ensures accurate colours and preservation of all highlight and shadow details. The image quality then rivals that of drum scanners.
The OpticFilm 120 includes a patented, adjustable pitch 120 film holder that ensures flat film for in-focus scans. Users do not need to cut 3-frame 6x7 120 film strips. The Opticfilm 120 also uses an automatic motorised film transport system that speeds up the scanning process.
The scanner's metal case provides isolation and stability for the lens, CCD and automatic transport assemblies. The OpticFilm 120 is one of the most compact 120 film scanners on the market. The rear cover design reduces the scanner's overall dimensions and prevents dust from entering the scanner.
The OpticFilm 120 comes with the internationally renowned SilverFast Ai Studio 8, together with all of its features and full functionality. For example, SilverFast ISRD helps to remove dust and scratches and optimises images. SilverFast Multi-Exposure increases the dynamic range and reduces noise. Auto IT8 Calibration helps to calibrate colours in just 2 minutes and ensures correct colour output. All SilverFast software features are perfectly integrated with the scanner.
