How to Prepare Your Dog for Teeth Cleaning

Introduce your dog to the toothbrush. The Petosan double-headed toothbrush allows you to clean the inner and outer surfaces of the teeth at the same time in one motion. Apply the paste to the toothbrush and let your dog lick the paste. However, do not let it bite the brush. Move the brush slowly and gently along the teeth. We recommend starting by cleaning only part of the teeth and gradually moving on to the entire set. Always reward your dog, be patient, and repeat the process every day.

How to Proceed with Cleaning

Brushes are available in sizes Small, Medium, Large

Step 1: Days 1–3. Apply a little Petosan toothpaste to your forefinger and let your dog lick it off. Gently move your finger along the teeth and gums to get your dog used to it. Reward your dog. If your dog is happy, proceed to step 2. (! Never use toothpaste designed for humans; it can be harmful to your dog if ingested)

Step 2: Days 4–14. Repeat the process using the Petosan finger toothbrush to wipe plaque from the surface of the teeth and gums. Do not force your dog and always clean only where your dog allows. Do this regularly and reward your dog. If your dog is happy, proceed to step 3.

Step 3: Day 15 and onwards
