The audio playback and autonomous behaviour functions mean that the robot becomes active right out of the box, sliding back and forth, flashing lights, and making funny sounds. Its infrared sensors, located at the front and at the back, keep track of the surroundings and ensure that the Ozobot does not randomly bump into any obstacles. The bottom sensors are responsible for reading the guiding lines and colour detection, affecting not only the LED light colour change but also the correct reading of the colour commands - the Ozocodes.
The clear and intuitive interface of the OzoBlockly web editor is based on the tried and true Google Blockly. Individual commands fit together as jigsaw puzzle and matching commands can be stacked further. OzoBlockly can be opened in any web browser regardless of the platform. You can program everything from movement patterns through light effects to complex conditional actions. The Ozobot is recharged over the micro USB port on its back and it can operate for up to one hour on a single charge .
