The Oculus Rift VR headset has been in the making for many years, but it is only recently that the release date was revealed. Available from October 2016, the final version is an essential accessory for enhancing your gaming experience on Xbox One and PC.
Designed under the supervision of legendary programmer John Carmack, Oculus Rift has started a revolution in the world of gaming experience.
Oculus Rift uses a pair of OLED displays with a total resolution of 2160 × 1200 pixels and a frequency of 90 Hz, providing a high-definition display with 1080 × 1200-pixel resolution for each eye. The set also includes adjustable headphones for perfect three-dimensional audio.
When designing Ocolus Rift, a great deal of attention was paid to user comfort. The solid plastic body is compact and serves as a framework for the attachment of all components. The edges of the glasses are covered with soft and breathable fabric.
The rear side is tightened by belts, and it can easily be adjusted to get the ideal fit. The goal was to make it as quick and easy to put on as possible.
The headset is monitored by a system of infrared LEDs, allowing accurate determination of its location in a 360-degree range – both positional and directional.
Each device is delivered with a wireless Xbox One controller. A number of native Oculus Rift games are already in development, with EVE spaceship simulator being a case in point. 2016 will bring the future to your home.
