Netgear EAX20
The Netgear EAX20 WiFi extender expands the range of your wireless network in homes and offices. The device receives the existing WiFi signal from any router and broadcasts it to areas that previously had weak or no coverage. It supports the modern WiFi 6 standard and is backwards compatible with older generations of wireless networks. As a dual-band device, it operates on two frequency bands simultaneously, with a total transfer speed of 1.8GB/s. The design also includes four Ethernet ports for a stable wired connection.
Key features of the Netgear EAX20 WiFi extender
- Supports the WiFi 6 standard with a total transfer speed of 1.8GB/s
- Features an internal quad-core 1.5GHz processor
- Four RJ-45 Ethernet ports with 1Gbit speed
- Operates simultaneously on 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands
- Network security using WPA-PSK standard with 128-bit AES encryption
- Dimensions: 63.4 × 241.7 × 169.5mm
- Total weight: 505g
Wireless speed
The wireless extender operates on two frequency bands with a total transfer speed of 1.8Gb/s. The 2.4GHz band reaches a transfer speed of 0.6Gb/s, and the 5GHz band reaches 1.2Gb/s. WiFi 6 technology increases the total network capacity compared to the older 802.11ac standard and earlier versions. Data transfer uses 1024-QAM modulation on both bands, which contributes to the smooth operation of the entire network under the heavy load of many connected devices at once.
Powerful processor for stable performance
Smooth wireless network performance is coordinated by an integrated quad-core processor running at 1.5GHz. This hardware foundation handles large volumes of data when streaming high-definition 4K UHD video and playing online games. The processor efficiently coordinates data flows to individual end devices without lag or delay. The hardware configuration can handle multiple requests at once thanks to its support for OFDMA technology, which divides channels for more efficient communication.
Network coverage with a WiFi extender
The extender supports the creation of a single network with the same name and password as your main router. The smart roaming feature switches mobile devices to the stronger signal source as you move around the house, with no need for manual switching. Two internal antennas spread the signal to previously uncovered areas, eliminating dead spots in larger buildings. The network coverage extends throughout the entire household, maintaining a stable wireless connection for all smartphones and other appliances.
Wired connection options
On the back of the device, you'll find four gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet ports with auto-sensing speed technology. The ports are used to connect devices without a wireless module, such as games consoles, desktop computers, or smart TVs. A wired connection provides high stability and a full speed of 1Gbit/s for each connected device. The ports are complemented by a power connector and a button to reset the device to its factory settings.
Simple setup with the Netgear EAX20 wifi extender
The Nighthawk mobile app simplifies the installation and subsequent management of your home network in just a few steps, without any complex configuration. You can monitor connected devices, test your internet speed, or perform firmware updates. The app displays a clear overview of your network status directly on your mobile phone or tablet screen.
Wireless transmission security
Data transfer security is protected by standardised WPA-PSK encryption with a 128-bit AES algorithm, compliant with the 802.11i standard. The extender also supports quick pairing with the router using the WPS hardware button on the device. The encryption protocols prevent unauthorised access to the internal network from the outside and protect user privacy. For proper functionality, the device requires a compatible router operating on the 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands.
