The Chateau 5G R17 ax WiFi router combines the functions of an access point, a router, and a mobile 5G modem with support for the Wi-Fi 6 wireless standard. The dual-band router operates on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands with a total transfer speed of up to 1774Mb/s. The integrated 5G modem, compliant with Release 17, uses advanced mobile band aggregation to enhance mobile signal stability, even in more remote areas. The hardware is based on a powerful 4-core 1.8GHz IPQ-6010 processor and 1GB of RAM. The system is managed by the industrial-grade RouterOS v7 operating system.

Wi-Fi connectivity and speed
The router's wireless component works with the Wi-Fi 6 standard and also supports older 802.11a/b/g/n/ac standards. Dual-band Wi-Fi splits wireless traffic between two frequency bands: 2.4GHz with speeds up to 574Mb/s and 5GHz with speeds up to 1200Mb/s.
Mobile 5G connection and eSIM
The integrated RG650E-EU modem supports the 5G Release 17 standard for fast mobile transfers. Users can use a classic Micro SIM card slot or the integrated eSIM technology. The built-in chip supports storing multiple eSIM profiles and switching between them easily without physical handling. The device works with a wide spectrum of FDD and TDD frequencies in both 5G and LTE bands.
Security
Network management is handled by the industrial-grade RouterOS v7 operating system with a Level 4 licence. Modern WPA2 and WPA3 protocols are used to encrypt wireless traffic. Administrators have access to advanced tools for configuring the firewall, VPN tunnels, and access control. The system's performance is complemented by a 4-core 1.8GHz IPQ-6010 processor and 1GB of RAM.
Connectivity options
The set of Ethernet ports on the back of the router provides a physical connection to the local network. The router also offers high-speed interfaces for connecting external storage or backup modems. It is powered via a DC input that supports a voltage of 12–28V. The port selection includes four 1Gb/s Ethernet LAN ports, one 2.5Gb/s Ethernet port, one USB 3.0 Type-A port, and one Micro SIM card slot.
