The Routerboard is a flexible, compact network card that can work as both a router and an access point. In WDS mode, it supports bridge functionality between two networks. The RB411U is an extended version of the popular RB411, which also offers a miniPCI Express interface and a USB 2.0 port.
The MiniPCI Express slot is ideal for installing a Wi-Fi card, while the USB 2.0 port can be used to connect a 3G modem. There is also a SIM card slot on the board, and an RS-232C (COM) serial port RJ-45 with a 10/100Mbps serial LAN port. At the heart of the RouterBoard is a processor clocked at 300MHz. The NAND memory stores the pre-installed MikroTik RouterOS v3 Level 4 operating system that fully supports IPv6, static and dynamic routing, firewall, DNS, and several other features. The Routerboard can be powered by a classic DC adapter or via the LAN network as it supports PoE (Power over Ethernet) technology.
