The Meta Quest Pro headset is expected to be officially unveiled during the Meta Connect conference on October 11. The information that has leaked to the media so far is unofficial and may not exactly match the real parameters of the new headset. The Meta Quest Pro headset should be lighter, slimmer and more comfortable than the Quest 2. It will come with two controllers that won't lack the ring design of previous Quest controllers. The optional Elite Strap accessory ensures that the display sits better on your head and the headset won't slip even during fast-moving games. The USB-C port allows you to connect the headset to your computer and transfer data between devices.
Three cameras will be placed on the front of the Meta Quest Pro headset. The middle 16MP high-resolution camera is designed to overlay colors and increase resolution over the data collected by the two lower cameras. The result is improved passthrough functionality that allows you to see better rendered real-world surroundings even with the headset on. So in addition to VR, one of the core features of the Meta Quest Pro headset will be augmented reality (AR), which will allow you to display a virtual fitness trainer in your living room, for example. Last but not least, we should also mention the high-end eye and face tracking functions using infrared sensors.
