Žižka - Grunwald 1410
Jan Žižka enters our historical consciousness only at the beginning of the Hussite storms. But what did he do before that? Where did he get his war experience?
In the early years of the 15th century, before he became a famous military leader, Jan Žižka served as doorkeeper to King Wenceslas IV. He has the sovereign's full confidence, and so he is sent to the Kingdom of Poland to bring King Vladislav II. Jagella reported on the continuing friendship between the two countries. In the growing tension between Poland and the Order of German Knights, who are about to invade the Kingdom of Poland, Žižka proves to be a very capable fighter and strategist. One of the greatest battles of the Middle Ages is about to take place - the Battle of Grunwald - and Jan Žižka has the opportunity to intervene in it in a significant way and to take experience from it for his future work.
