Wolf Song
When the boy—now a man—from the house at the end of the road returns, can Ox ignore the song that sings between them?
Ox was twelve when his father taught him a very valuable lesson. He said that Ox was worthless, and that people would never understand him. Then he left.
Ox was sixteen when he met a boy on the road, a boy who talked and talked and talked. Ox later found out that before that day, the boy hadn't spoken in almost two years, and that he belonged to the family that had moved into the house at the end of the street.
Ox was seventeen when he discovered the boy's secret, which coloured the world around him in shades of red and orange and purple, of alpha and beta and omega.
Ox was twenty-three when murderers stormed the town, leaving a hole in his head and in his heart. The boy went after the monster with revenge in his blood-red eyes, leaving Ox to put the pieces of his life back together by himself.
Three years have passed since that fateful day—and the boy is back. Only now he's a man, and Ox can no longer ignore the song that sings between them.
