We'll prescribe you a cat

An affectionate Japanese bestseller about velvet fur, endless spinning and true cat love, published in thirty languages. In bustling Kyoto, on the fifth floor of a building at the end of a secluded alley, sits the Nakagyo Kokoro soul healing clinic. However, only someone who is plagued by suffering and who no longer knows how to move forward can find it. Those who visit it will be offered a truly unusual treat – a furry pet. Some patients find this strange to say the least, but when they actually get to know their assigned cat, they see firsthand the remarkable changes these playful, compassionate and demanding beasts bring to their lives. A disgraced broker who no longer enjoys his job. A girl in elementary school who wants to fit in with the gang. A prolific handbag designer who strives to achieve mental balance. A geisha pining for her own lost cat. All of the clinic's visitors have complicated internal struggles, but their new feline companions guide them on a path to hope and healing. Prescribe You a Cat gradually reveals to listeners the healing power of the human-animal bond.
