Reality can sometimes be worse than memories.
Journalist Marek "Terence" Vráz meets a dying woman who wants to relieve her conscience at the last moment. She confides in him that years ago she secretly gave birth and then killed her child.
Terence tries to verify the truth of her story, but encounters inconsistencies and discovers bigger and bigger cracks in the woman's narrative. Eventually, however, he discovers that the things the woman remembers are not nearly as horrific as the reality.
