Viktor Dusil: Breakfast at eight, lunch at twelve

The plot of the radio play takes us to a home for the elderly in the early 1990s. He is not so much controlled by the matron, but rather by a vital client, a former employee of the stage agency JUDr. Shayda. In the name of goodness and service to other clients, she can organize life in the home to her advantage. He has just played out a plan that will result in a substantial profit. To the displeasure of JUDr. Shayda's former acrobat, whom he once forced into a number by an incompetent performer, appears. When the tragedy inevitably occurred, he put all the blame on him. In the new fight, in which the former circus performer wants to defend his honour, Dr. Šajda has long had the upper hand. Viktor Dusil (1931-2006) became famous mainly for his books from the circus environment. Viktor Dusil also set the radio play Circus Kontinent, directed by Jiří Horčička, in a circus environment, and his knowledge of the circus helped him to build the plot of the 1992 play Breakfast at Eight, Lunch at Twelve. And just like Jiří Horčička, director Jan Fuchs had a lucky hand in choosing the cast for the production. In addition to Josef Kemer and Svatopluk Beneš, Stella Zázvorková will appear in the production, Slávka Budínová, Luba Skořepová, Sobeslav Sejk, Václav Sloup, Lubomír Lipský, Milan Neděla and others.
