Valkyries

The first Czech edition of a now-classic novel by Paulo Coelho

This is an autobiographical yet universally resonant story of two partners with different personalities whose marriage is on the brink of collapse. During a forty-day stay in the Mojave Desert in 1988, they both come to terms with their innermost conflicts and are put to the test when they encounter a group of warrior Valkyries who proclaim the dawn of a time of great change. Paulo must complete another task given to him by his Master – a character familiar from The Pilgrimage – to break the curse of Paulo's past experience with demonic forces. His task is to "talk with an angel," delve into his deepest self, open himself to intuition, and feel part of the universe.
