
Václav Mencl's Architecture Journeys (1925-1973)
The first monograph dedicated to the personality of doc. Dr. technical Ing. arch. Václav Mencl (1905-1978), an important historian of art and especially architecture. In the first part, the author focuses on Mencl's life and personality, and above all translates an overview of his travels in Czechoslovakia, Europe and the Middle East between 1925 and 1973. The second part of the publication is an edition, or rather a reconstruction, of Mencl's travel diary from his long journey to the area of present-day Iran. Finally, a bibliography of Václav and Dobroslava Menclova is included, including unpublished manuscripts. The book is accompanied by numerous photographs.
