Can one boy be a threat to the fragile peace between two civilisations?

Eleven-year-old Michel Barnier didn't have it easy, even when both his parents were still alive. They moved frequently from place to place, so finding and, more importantly, keeping friends was a problem. Then his mum died, and his father decided that he would fly with him on his new contract. And it certainly wouldn't be in the Solar System, because this time it was a job for aliens. And so Michel found himself on Cerberus, the first future interspecies base on the edge of human-known space, in a tiny cabin and a makeshift classroom for online learning. In a place full of adults who he was in the way of, while his father had flown even further away... Michel realised he would never come back during his first meeting with the enormous Shatchran soldier Nhakchat. And it was also clear to him that now that he was all alone in this alien world, he would have to fight for his place in it.

Reviews of the book:

The book easily stands up to international comparison. It's great that a sci-fi series of this quality is being created in the Czech Republic, and it's even better to be there from the very beginning.

Domská builds her space opera on an interesting world and conflicts that don't require the clatter of weapons or dramatic twists, but rather diplomacy and consistent communication. And that's precisely why it's a breath of fresh air in this genre.
- Michaela Merglová, author of the novel Song of Steel

Kchrat is a return to the roots of adventure sci-fi in the best traditions of the genre's golden age. Marie Domská unfolds a magnificent interstellar saga, which is, however, skilfully anchored in a very personal and human story.
