Tumours of the subhepatic region

The book contains the most up-to-date knowledge on the diagnosis and treatment of malignant processes of the subhepatic region and is to some extent " instructions" how to proceed in the diagnosis and rational treatment of these seemingly heterogeneous pathological processes, not only for primary care physicians - general practitioners, but especially for clinical specialists (gastroenterologists, oncologists, interventional radiologists, etc. ).
The monograph is a direct continuation of the previous book by the authors' collective " Malignant lesional processes of the liver - diagnosis and treatment" from 2006 and is based on a similar concept. It again includes a chapter on pathological and radiological correlations of tumours of the subhepatic region, it is accompanied by a virtual panel discussion on some problems and not only our but also foreign experts were invited to participate.
A comprehensive work has been lacking in our literature, that would look in detail not only at pancreatic disease, but also the issue of other malignancies of the subhepatic region, namely, tumors of the duodenum, of the ampulopapillary complex, gallbladder and extrahepatic bile ducts.
The common denominator of the above pathologies is the presence of clinical syndromes due to biliary blockage or passage of the gastrointestinal tract in the duodenum, sometimes a combination of both. It is not only the clinic that is similar, but to some extent also the examination and treatment procedures.
In the special part, in the chapters devoted to individual pathologies, not only the main clinical aspects and general characteristics, but also the specifics of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are captured so as not to be overlooked in the overall amount of information presented.
