Traces of Adriena Šimotová

The interview with Adriena Šimotová is an attempt to look into the way of thinking of our leading visual artist, an unusually strong and severely tested woman in life. Her artistic handwriting is so original that even in the 21st century she is recognizable and memorable just like the great artists of the last century Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol or our own Jiří Kolář. The book is divided into three parts, the first of which tries to answer the question of how the painting comes to Mrs Šimotová and how and when she says goodbye to it. In the second part, the conversation revolves around the question of how one should look at a painting, especially when it is abstract. The third part seeks to answer the questions of who is an artist and what can be taught in art.
