A dramatic story of courage and love in the shadow of war
An ancient legend says that there are two wolves living in every man and they are constantly fighting for the heartbeat. One is fear and hatred and the other is love and trust. Which wolf will win? The one we feed.
Sweden at the very beginning of World War II. The main characters of the story are orphans Magdalena and Nils, whose only relative - an uncle who has returned from America - has left them all his wealth. Thanks to an unexpected inheritance, they begin a new life and a promising career, but the horrors of the incipient war seeping in from the continent lead them to help those in need. Carl-Magnus Rytterholm, an admirer of the new hero Adolf Hitler, enters the story.
But as always, love walks alongside evil. In the search for three missing Finnish war children, Magdalena and Carl-Magnus have a fateful encounter, and their courage and dedication change their lives and the lives of many others.
Time of the wolves is a story about the courage to stand up for what we believe in our hearts, for the weak and defenceless, the courage to defend the right to freedom of body and spirit and to disobey orders. Even through the blackest darkness, the shining light of love and hope shines brightly. And as a symbol of the struggle between good and evil, three snow-white wolves accompany the reader throughout the book.
