This year we have to be happier than last year!

The book focuses on the transformation of corporate culture in the Czech environment, specifically in the domestic branches of foreign corporations that were newly established after 1989 and became a model for the establishment of "Western" corporate culture in the domestic context. In contrast to other publications that perceive corporate culture as a tool for managing and improving organizational performance, this paper reflects on the issue of corporate culture from the perspective of male and female employees. On the basis of oral history research (interviews with people from all levels of the corporate hierarchy), the author seeks to answer the question of whether and how neoliberal values rooted in the transnational corporate culture have transformed (and are transforming) not only the sphere of work, but also the behaviour and experience of individuals in their non-work, private life.
