The winding road

Whoever speaks his name will pay with his life

The road to justice can sometimes be very winding. Especially if it runs down the most twisted street in San Francisco. It's called Lombard Street. And the word "Lombard" is the one and only word Denny Clark utters before he dies in the arms of his friend, Inspector Frost Easton, on his doorstep. Could Denny's death be somehow related to the deaths of several people near whom the picture of the red snake was discovered? Is there a serial killer on the loose? And who or what is "Lombard," a mysterious name that is only whispered among San Francisco's elite? If Frost wants to get to the truth this time, he can trust no one at all - his opponent knows Frost's every move and is lurking around the next bend to strike again.
