The Washington Decree
Political thriller from the bestselling Nordic crime author
Democratic Governor Bruce Jansen has just won the US presidential election by a wide margin. However, the victory celebration is disrupted by an assassination attempt that kills his wife. Who is behind the tragedy? Is the killer really a local weirdo, or do the strings go back much further? With Jansen's ascension to the presidency, the United States suddenly finds itself in a situation where the new president will do anything to change American society - immediately and at any cost.
Doggie Rogers, a member of Jansen's staff, finds herself in the middle of all the action after the passage of Jansen's controversial executive order that abrogates the constitutional rights of American citizens. It will unleash hell on earth like America has never seen before. Doggie's world is about to be turned upside down. Her father is sentenced to death for the murder of the President's wife. The society is boiling and the soldiers in the streets are violently suppressing the protests of the rioting citizens. Doggie feels helpless. Does she have any friends left who can help her?
"At the beginning, when I learned that it was a political novel, I didn't feel much like reading it. But from the first pages I was directly drawn into the plot and later completely absorbed. I don't remember ever being so eager to read again. I always looked forward to picking up the book. Super read and masterfully written. "

"A great political thriller, a bit in the style of Clancy (though without his explanatory introductions) cut with a bit of King. I couldn't completely tear myself away from the book, and it's a shame there aren't many others like it on the subject. "
