The voice of the echo
In his work, French psychoanalyst Erik Porge aims to follow in the footsteps of his predecessor Jacques Lacan, who included the invocation (listening) instinct in the list of instincts (oral, anal, scopic). Porge calls the term " echo stage" a structural moment that lies on the border between shouting and addressing, preceding the mirror stage and at the same time being part of it. In an attempt to clearly formulate the invocation instinct, the author returns to clinical phenomena such as echolalia in autism, clarifies the function of the psychoanalyst' s silence, and deals with structural issues, among which the Superego [surmoi] can be included.
