The true feast begins now

Learn to do the right thing, even when it isn't easy. At its core, justice is very simple. Each of us has the ability to sense what is right in almost every situation. We all admire those who keep their word. We despise liars and cheats. We celebrate those who have sacrificed something for the good of the whole, and we are disgusted by those who have worked their way to wealth and fame at the expense of others. But when it comes down to it, the right decision can very often cost us dearly. And the influence of the modern world often tells us that it is not our duty to act justly. Ryan Holiday wants to show you that the opposite is true. In his book, he draws on the fascinating stories of historical figures such as Marcus Aurelius, Florence Nightingale, Jimmy Carter and Gandhi, whose examples of kindness, integrity, honesty and loyalty can serve as pillars of an honourable life. This book is a Stoic guide to help you become a more just, kind and honourable person. It will give you an insight into how the principle of justice affects every individual and society as a whole. The key to a calm and contented life lies in the four cardinal virtues, which are the subject of the Stoic Virtues series. And now it is the turn of justice, which in today's society is often associated only with the law and its limits. But justice is much higher. Just because you can do something and others do it, doesn't mean you should. You choose your actions so that you are able to bear their impact on your conscience. And the Stoics are perfectly clear on this. The right time for the right actions is right now. Do the right thing. And do it now. Do it for yourself, for others, for the world.
