The road to the north

What if the happiness we seek is right in front of our eyes?

Thirty-seven-year-old Anna, a mother of two teenage daughters, is collapsing under the weight of her job and unpaid debts. She only meets her daughters for breakfast, and spends her days and evenings in the restaurant where she works as a waitress. Life is passing right before her eyes and she watches it from the bubble she has enclosed herself in.

Seventeen-year-old Chloé is a very sensitive teenage girl. Although she would like to go to Australia, she feels obliged to find a job and start helping her mother. The love she seeks in boys never lasts. They always change mysteriously, like Cinderella's carriage after midnight.

And then there's Lily. She's twelve, she's very smart, but she doesn't like people very much. She feels much better in the company of her rat, which she named after her absent father. The rodents are the first to leave the ship.

When Anna unexpectedly gets fired and a large severance package, she has two options. Pay off all your debts, get a new job and stay in your safe bubble. Or load your daughters into a caravan and go on a tour of Scandinavia.
