The midnight shop of wonders

Seventeen-year-old Hesper Hexwood lives far to the north in the small town of Vintervik. Under the watchful eye of her strict mother, eccentric aunt, and quirky grandmother, she is learning to control her magical gifts. To everyone else, she is just an ordinary teenage mortal, hiding her witchy secret even from her best friend Ambrose, with whom she is secretly in love. But as the winter solstice approaches, darkness begins to stir, and Hesper must discover whether she can continue to be both a mortal and a witch. Or do Christmas miracles not work for witches?
