The meaning of life

A story of a hot summer where the protagonist, Tomáš, must decide what is more important to him: a lucrative job or his partner. Although he enjoys criticising his village acquaintances for their cowardice, he himself seems like a coward in his dissatisfaction with xenophobia or dismissals at work. Will Tomáš man up in the end? Or will he be content with attending Czech lessons for foreigners, which he goes to not only for the attractive lecturer but also to remind himself that we don't just have to fight against a boorish president or the immigration police, but also against the language itself?
