The Man of Seven Sisters
Life's prank - conceiving a child with 7 women in 7 days.
An unpublished humorous novel about a man whose purpose in life is original jokes and pranks.
The main hero of Jaroslav Havlíček's humorous novel is Mr. Emil Škvor, a man whose pleasure, but also the meaning of life, is the original jokes and pranks he plays on others. When he finds out, that there's a math professor in his town, father of 7 daughters, that were born in an exact arithmetic series, which the professor considers his crowning achievement, this inspires Emil to his "life joke" - to conceive a child with each of the professor's 7 daughters within 7 days. When 7 babies are actually born in 9 months, it is again the professor who has the answer to Emil's joke. A slightly amoral, well-written story that doesn't deny an excellent novelist. However, the author of Petrol Lamps and The Invisible did not wish to have this novel published during his lifetime.
