The limits of Darwinism

Darwinism claims to be the complete theory of biological life, including human life. It has a significant influence on the self-concept of today' s people and their worldview. In his unique book, Emeritus Professor of Masaryk University, physician and philosopher Jiří Vácha not only summarizes the current scientific criticism of Darwinism, but also expands the whole problem to include " consciousness" as the most specific property of living beings. In addition to the physical aspect of organisms, their experiential aspect also developed, which is not sufficiently taken into account in Darwinism. Modern natural science, following in the footsteps of Descartes' mechanism, has already closed its approach to solving this fundamental problem a priori and is forced to leave a certain part of the task to philosophy. Despite its relatively broad scientific scope, the book is surprisingly readable; the author explains complex matters in clear and simple language.
