The Liar's Game

The liar's game has pretty simple rules: 1. Tell a lie! 2. Insist on your invention! 3. Don't get caught! Isa and her friends used to play a game of liars together at boarding school: telling made-up stories to classmates, teachers and just about anyone. Their fun did not go without consequences, however, and the foursome was eventually expelled from the school. After almost two decades, these inseparable friends meet again. Kate, the last of the foursome, sends out a text message with only two words: "I need you! "Years of lying have taken their toll, and now we need to set the record straight - there are two more rules to the liar's game: 4. We never lie to each other! 5. Know when to stop lying! On a cold June morning, a local man walks his dog on the English coast. The animal digs up what its mistress initially thinks is a rotting branch, but after a while discovers that it is something much more sinister. Copyright © Ruth Warburton, 2017.
