The League is 100 years old

In 2025, the Czech football league will celebrate its centenary. This is certainly reason enough to look back on a century of the phenomenon that is the top football league. The league is seen, commented on, and described by twenty co-authors who contributed their insights in the individual chapters of this impressive project. The result is an insightful monograph containing more than a hundred chapters, written from various points of view by renowned and respected football historians and sports journalists.

Unlike other publications released in the Czech Republic that also commemorate 100 years of the league, this book doesn't just contain statistics from the last century (how many goals were scored in a hundred years, how many players were sent off in a hundred years, how many matches were played in a hundred years, how many penalties were taken in a hundred years, etc., without any further details). Instead, it describes the course of each individual season, publishes the final league tables, the league champions' squads, interesting moments from each football season, profiles of league personalities, and other information that completes the picture of a hundred years of league football. The authors also pay attention to the local perception of winning the title in different regions and in the hometowns of the clubs whose successes have attracted, and continue to attract, a wide community of fans to the stands of their stadiums.
