The illusion of truth

A gripping thriller set in the near future provokes thoughts on how far the manipulation of information can go

Colonel Marek, the head of the cybercrime department, is preparing to retire. He is looking forward to peaceful times on his farm in Posázaví. Before retiring, he will have his knee operated on by a friend from his studies. But strange things are happening in the hospital. There is a sudden power outage, then Mark gets different pills than he is supposed to. In a rather strange way, he is contacted by the former head of the information system department.
Marek is drawn into a complicated game against his will, in which he finds out that the truth is virtually nonexistent, almost everything, that you can find on the Internet, undergoes rigorous scrutiny and, in particular, adjustments and distortions. He finds that truth is only what people are willing to believe. He embarks on the last investigation of his life, where he and the rather eccentric head of the hospital IT are literally at each other's throats. The only salvation for them is that even their opponents will be forced to believe what these two professionals will prepare for them as reality.
The story takes place in the vaguely near future and raises both thoughts and concerns about how far the manipulation of information can go.
