The Dark Path

Eight years ago, Joseph King was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his wife. According to local police, he was a "fallen" Amish man and a known drug user with a short temper. Now King has escaped from prison and is headed to the small town of Painters Mill. News of the escaped killer is spreading like wildfire, and there is nervousness on Police Chief Kate Burkholder's team. When King shows up in town with a gun and kidnaps his five children from their Amish uncle's house, the nightmare becomes a reality. Worried about the children, Kate springs into action, only to fall into the killer's clutches during the frantic search for him. But King releases her unharmed and asks her to prove his innocence. And so Kate begins to search for the truth.
