The Curse of the Executioner's Blood

Anika is growing up with her father, the town executioner Jakub, who teaches her his craft and prepares her for a difficult life on the fringes of society. However, when he is treacherously murdered before her eyes and their home is burned down, the girl finds herself alone in a world full of prejudice and violence. Without the protection afforded to her by her father's cursed position, she must now rely only on her own skills and courage. On her journey to uncover the murderers, Anika gains unexpected allies from among those she would previously have met only in the torture chamber. She falls more and more under the spell of the mysterious Darko, while at the same time moving away from everything she once knew as the executioner's daughter. Nevertheless, she is determined to seek justice and avenge her father's death.
