The CTK Act: Transformation halfway through

The monograph captures how relations between the political and media spheres in the Czech Republic developed in the 1990s, and how the political sphere influenced the transformation of ČTK. < br> The first three chapters concern the process of creating institutional legislation (Acts No. 123/1965 Coll., no. 310/1991 Coll. and no. 517/1992 Coll. ), the other two are applications of legal norms: on the example of the election of the first ČTK Council (1993) and the government' s attempt to return to the law the obligation to publish official statements in full, thus redefining the agency' s roles (1995). < br> The last part recapitulates the positions on the change of the statute, or rather on the possible privatization of the agency, and is temporally linked to the second Council of the Czech News Agency (1998), although the topic runs through the entire 1990s. In 1992, legislators assumed that the status of ČTK as a public service media outlet would be temporary, unlike the laws on Czech Television and Czech Radio.
