The case of the narrow dagger
The opening part of a series of adventurous historical mysteries set in Great Moravia
The main heroes and Great Moravian "detectives" are Slavomir, a prince of the Mojmir family, and his Viking friend Erik. In the first story, in which the memories of the disgraceful defeat of the Frankish armies during their invasion of Moravia in 855 resonate, King Rastislav commissions Slavomir and Erik to investigate the murder of the builder Radslav, the author of the fortifications of the largest Moravian towns and the Mikulčice basilica.
Rastislav cares about punishing the builder's murderers, among other things, because Radslav basically raised the king. At the beginning, Slavomir and Erik have only two clues - the wound of a strangely narrow dagger in Radslav's chest and the testimony of a drunken cooper. However, they soon learn about the unknown circumstances of Radslav's life and get on the trail of a dangerous conspiracy.
