The Case of the Betrayed King

In Great Moravia, murder is again insidious. The fifth volume of the historical detective series Crimes in Great Moravia.

The disputes between Rastislav and his nephew Svatopluk grow and the death toll begins to rise. Prince Slavomir and his Viking friend Erik take over the investigation of the crimes. Everybody in Great Moravia knew and worshipped the tall white-haired man Slavomir of Dolnograd, the most powerful Grand Duke after the Prince. The prudent Slavomir, who solved many a crime in Great Moravia at the request of the ruler, recalls the turbulent events of 870. Prince Rastislav is getting older and his nephew Svatopluk is convinced that he would have ruled much better. Rastislav knows what Svatopluk desires, and the feast Rastislav hosts is meant to strengthen the broken relations between the two Mojmirs. However, the vladyka is almost poisoned, having accidentally drunk from Svatopluk's cup. Most of those present think that Rastislav wanted to get rid of his competitor in this way.

Slavomir, however, is not fooled and at Rastislav's request begins to investigate. The situation is becoming more complicated as he will soon have to deal with two more murders. The main question is: Are all the crimes connected?
