The bloody stigma

A SEASIDE TOWN TURNS INTO THE SCENE OF HORRIBLE MURDER.

After the body of local parish volunteer Veronica Lloyd is washed up in the sea, a nightmare begins for the residents of the seaside town of Weston-super-Mare. And the same goes for Police Inspector Louisa Blackwell, who was only recently transferred here.

The dead woman has a series of wounds on her body and her palms are pierced in a perverse imitation of Jesus' stigmata. When a priest is soon found murdered in a nearby church in a similarly gruesome manner, it becomes clear to Louise that she is up against a terrifying killer who does not choose his victims at random.

The morgue' s capacity is quickly running out, and Louise is racing against time to uncover the killer' s identity before he completes his bloody opus. But seemingly idyllic Weston hides more secrets than she could have imagined. Who can he trust? Who knows more than they admit? And above all – what did the dead do to deserve such punishment?
