The Artist

Death Honeymoon in the Hollywood Hills

A beautiful day in the Hollywood Hills and an open-air wedding. Joyful promises of a happy future are shattered by the tragic death of one of the newlyweds. Although at first everything points to an unfortunate accident, Agent Carmen Sanchez from the Office for Internal Security and her partner, security expert Jake Heron, discover a connection to two other murders. The conclusion is clear: this investigation will be much darker than they expected.
The man nicknamed the Honeymoon Killer isn't interested in his victims; he only desires to create his own morbid work of art. He focuses on the bereaved, their suffering is his pleasure. And now he has turned his horrific obsession towards Carmen and Jake.
The Honeymoon Killer has come to believe that they are the next perfect target. All he has to do is kill one of them and then watch with delight as the other collapses. The predator is stalking his prey, and time is desperately short…

Reviews of the book:

The Artist is a dense and captivating thriller that will grab you by the collar and won't let you breathe until the very end. Jeffery Deaver and Isabella Maldonado have delivered a clear hit for the second time, combining great characters, an attractive plot, a dark secret, and the emotional bonds of the heroes.

Deaver, Jeffery

Jeffery Deaver, now a cult author in the detective genre, is the recipient of dozens of awards and nominations. He wrote his first "drawer novel" at the age of 11, and today he has more than 40 novels and short story collections to his name. His books are translated into 25 languages and sold in 150 countries. Some of his works have been adapted into films or television series. He is best known for his series of thrillers featuring investigator Lincoln Rhyme, the first of which, The Bone Collector, was the basis for the film starring Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. The series featuring investigator Colter Shaw is no less successful.

Maldonado, Isabella

Isabella Maldonado began writing crime novels after a twenty-year career in law enforcement, where she managed the special investigations and forensic sciences unit, graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, and also worked as a police negotiator, press spokesperson, and precinct commander. This gives her books a realistic insight. She first captivated Czech readers with her series of thrillers featuring FBI agent Nina Guerrera, published by Metafora under the titles The Cipher, The Snake's Eyes, and The Falconer, followed by the titles Kill or Die and Echoes of Blood.
