Thaw Time

Tuomas Aaltonen makes a living as a successful contract killer, travelling covertly between two corporate empires that have transformed into friendly neighbours over the centuries. However, his last, thoroughly botched mission sends his life in a completely different direction. Mysterious data about a megalomaniacal project that falls into his hands has the potential to affect everyone, from the highest echelons of management down to ordinary citizens – in both corporations.
The discovery of a strange victim and the hunt for her killer gives police officer Jane Sung an unexpected chance to return to where she came from, a place she never wanted to go back to – a mysterious world that largely severed ties with the corporations centuries ago, and where she was not an ordinary law enforcement officer, but someone else. But the past is relentless and will make itself known sooner or later.
Tuomas, Jane, and other players, both willing and unwilling, must face a calculating enemy who, by manipulating the lives of others, is playing an insane cosmic game, the likes of which humanity has never faced before.
