Techniques of personal development and mental hygiene of the teacher
The demands on the teaching profession are increasing, the number of pupils and students with special educational needs is growing, and the pedagogical expertise of many parents and their interest in cooperating with the school is increasing.
On the other hand, however, teachers are also encountering significant disinterest on the part of some legal representatives of pupils in their children's school education. Stress factors, which affect the personality of teachers from all sides, not only lead to frequent damage to their health, an increase in psychosomatic problems, but especially to an increasing incidence of burnout syndrome.
It is precisely this modern phenomenon that this publication seeks to respond to, offering theoretical background for understanding the emergence and development of the phenomenon. It presents effective prevention techniques that teachers can use to take care of their own mental health and prevent burnout (or reduce its effects when burnout has already occurred).
Among other things, emphasis is also placed on finding a positive motivation to perform one's profession (the so-called. positive life scenarios), the use of coaching and self-coaching methods, tutoring, case study seminars or Balint groups. There are also the usual methods of personal development and mental hygiene.
